5th Annual Fleece Market Day, April 28, 2012, at The Recycled Lamb
If you live near Denver, Colorado, Sister Sheep fleece will be available for sale at The Recycled Lamb, Lakewood CO. Come see our fleece up close and join in the fun. There will be other fiber growers with alpaca and angora rabbit fibers as well.
The Recycled Lamb will have moved in at their new home across the street from their current location, so it will be even more fun than usual! Saturday, April 28 - 10:00 - 4:00 - we hope to see you!

National Western Stock Show, Denver CO, January 7-23, 2012
Sister Sheep's Julie and Flo will be demonstrating spinning and weaving at the Stock Show as part of the Rocky Mountain Weavers Guild public outreach. Lots of school children come through the educational area and are always fascinated by the making of cloth from sheep. We are, too!

Sister Sheep sold white and naturally colored roving, our felted baby bootees and nuno felted scarves along with various woven and knitted items. Nuno Felted Scarf Class, July 24, 2011
Julie and Flo taught a Nuno Felted Scarf class at the Recycled Lamb. Four participants spent the day learning how to laminate wool to silk and created fabulous fiber art that they can wear! Very fun...
Estes Park Wool Market, June 9 - 12, 2011
All four sisters attended the Wool Market this year. On Saturday, June 11, 8 of our naturally colored sheep were judged and walked away with ribbons. On Sunday, June 12, 4 of our white ewes were entered in the White Sheep Show. Jonquil, our beautiful ewe lamb, took a first place ribbon.
Flo and Marny participated in the Sheep to Shawl competition on the Recycled Lamb team The Twill Seekers. The team won a second place ribbon AND the People's Choice prize! The beautiful shawl will be auctioned off at the Recycled Lamb to benefit Family Tree, the local organization that supports children and families in crisis.
Wool Washing Class, The Recycled Lamb, May 14, 2011
Flo taught a half day class at the Recycled Lamb, our favorite local yarn shop, as a follow-up to the Fleece Market. Participants learned about washing fine wool. The handout from this class is available here.

March 26, 2011 - Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver CO.
Sister Sheep joined The Recycled Lamb in creating two Sheep to Shawl teams. Each team took freshly washed fleece, spun yarn, and wove a shawl by the end of the day. This event was in conjunction with the exhibit by artist Allison Smith entitled Piece Work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver throuh May 29. The fleece was from Sister Sheep - Rosemary the white ewe and Roscoe the dark grey ram. Watch the video!
Shearing Sheep
SHEARING ON FEBRUARY 12 WAS FABULOUS! We have gorgeous fleece, and we will be busy skirting them and getting them ready for you! May 7 will be the 4th Annual Fleece Market at the Recycled Lamb in Lakewood, Colorado, featuring Sister Sheep fleece and mohair. We will also have fleece available at our Etsy shop. Our fleece will be judged at the Estes Park Wool Market on Saturday, June 11, and be available for purchase afterwards.
Spinning Wolf
Julie and Flo recently spun wolf fiber (yep, you heard right!) for a volunteer at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. This volunteer knits small items from the spun fiber to be sold at the gift shop to benefit the program. And the sisters love to spin, so we are contributing to this effort to educate us all about wolves, wolf dogs, foxes and coyotes.
Navajo Weaving
Marny has just completed a Navajo weaving class with Lynda Teller Pete, fifth generation Two Grey Hills weaver. Lynda's classes are a chance to learn about weaving and Navajo culture.
